Fernando A. Rivera, M.D.

Dr. Rivera is a board certified physician in Internal Medicine. He serves as a consultant within the Section of Executive, Development and International Medicine in Mayo Clinic Florida. He also is a consultant in the Division of Consultative and Diagnostic Medicine. He also has an interest in Preventive Medicine and health maintenance. Dr. Rivera is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Rivera obtained his medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia SA. He completed a General Internal Medicine residency program at the Jackson Memorial Hospital University of Miami in Miami, FL. Dr. Rivera is a Colombian native. He worked in Marshfield Clinic, Wausau, WI, as a Chair of the Hospital Internal Medicine program prior joining Mayo Clinic in 2006. Dr. Rivera is the former Medical Director of the Preoperative Evaluation (POE) clinic in the Mayo Clinic Florida. He enjoys spending time with family, reading world history, traveling and listening to smooth jazz.
