Dr. Connor Q. O'Hare is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He is dedicated to improving patient care through innovative research and quality improvement, focusing on acute pulmonary embolism (PE) management. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan, where he also graduated from the Healthcare Administration Scholars Program, gaining expertise in operations, advocacy, and leadership.
Dr. O'Hare's research focuses on enhancing patient outcomes in acute PE by refining risk stratification and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations. He led a multi-component intervention for low-risk PE management to improve emergency department efficiency while ensuring patient safety. Additionally, he spearheaded the creation of a pulmonary embolism registry, collaborating with cardiology to investigate the efficacy of pulmonary embolism response teams, the significance of CT imaging findings, and novel risk stratification tools. His studies have explored the role of high-sensitivity troponin and automated PE severity scoring to optimize care.
