Elizabeth J. Cathcart-Rake, M.D., is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer. She has particular expertise in:

  • Prevention and treatment of side effects that result from cancer and cancer therapies, including hot flashes, alopecia, and neuropathy
  • Cancer care for individuals who identify as LGBTQI+
  • Endocrine therapies for people who identify as transgender and gender diverse with breast cancer.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Cathcart-Rake is active in research focused on prevention and treatment of toxicities in patients with cancer. She is the principal investigator for numerous prospective studies and clinical trials. She engages with patients and advocacy groups to better understand the experiences of individuals at risk for cancer and with cancer and aims to individualize therapies for each patient.
